Cleveland - our urban, post-industrial, gritty hometown - isn't the first place you'd think of when considering a place for a spiritual community. We're not Sedona, don't have a Mt. Shasta (or any mountains, for that matter), aren't a New Age mecca, and "almost heaven" is a bit south of here on the Interstate. Yet Cleveland is a place with enormous heart - a place of compassion, of kindness, of hearts that are sometimes broken, hearts that get healed, hearts that beat to the rhythm of the city. It's a perfect place for a school of meditation that's oriented towards bringing forth all that you might be, awakening you to your life's purpose, using relationship as a means of unfoldment, and tuning your heart to the cry for service in the world. Cleveland isn't an "up in the air" kind of place, and the Institute for Applied Meditation (IAM for short) isn't a spaced-out spiritual path. We begin with the basics: finding and working with the rhythm of your own heart, an in-the-body spiritual experience. IAM is a mystical school that blends ancient practice with the urgency of the need for genuine spirituality in our time.
A new class in Heart Rhythm Meditation begins October 1 and continues for eight Thursdays, through November 19. We'll be meeting at Murray Hill Galleries #207 (the old Murray Hill School just off Mayfield Road at Murray Hill in Little Italy, at 7:15p.m. Eight classes - $75, or $12 per class. Call 216.544.8419 to register. Scholarship assistance is available.
You have a great treasure within you, one that can't ever be taken from you, upon which you can draw continually. This treasure is your heart, and its heartbeat is a constant reminder of its presence.
